XP Farming - Kaze - 02-18-2016
Heyo, not entirely sure where to put this but I was hanging out on the EUXP server, where this guy was flat-out refusing to help progress the map so he could sit and smack the turrets with his crowbar for about 30 minutes straight.
Seeing as this sorta thing is getting common lately, figured I should pin it up here.

This is all too common with SCXPM, on maps like svencoop1, toonrun3, etc. If you want people to not xp hoard you should make it clear to the players, and quick.

I've personally played with said player plenty of times, he's actually a regular on the EU SCXP server and many have complained about similar issues so I'll be sure to keep an eye on him.

Sorry, guys. We just can't keep up with the toonrun3 SCXPM exploit. The whole toonrun series has been removed from map rotation on SCXPM servers until further notice. Even with max levels set to 5, people did not stop trying to gain XP. I considered disabling SCXPM, but it seemed much better just to disable Toonrun map series altogether. If you guys really want toonrun, it will be added back to cycle, but SCXPM will need to be disabled on toonrun3. The toonrun map series can still be ran with admin map changing commands. Any and all maps being exploited to gain XP, also known as "XP Farming", will be removed from cycle or have SCXPM disabled on them. The map "stadium4" has also been removed from map rotation on some servers until further notice.
We are going to want to use EntMod or something to re-enable the maps without exploits. Anyone with any experience is welcomed to chime in with ideas or potential solutions. I have very little experience with EntMod.

I need to know specifically what about these maps are being exploited, with a demo or screenshot if possible. This type of activity and behavior cannot be occurring for many different reasons. I could care less about people getting XP fast. What I care about is the server not operating correctly when people are actively exploiting the map to gain experience points. Last night on toonrun3, even with the SCXPM xp gain limit set to 5 levels, my keyboard keys were rebound. This is just an example of how it messes up the game in 1 way. There are other ways the server / clients get messed up. We really can't allow for this if we want to run a decent server.
The temptation to gain XP from doing this is so great....I imagine if I was younger and wasn't the server admin, I would probably be doing the same exact thing lol
