Possibly 512. Not sure at the moment) It runs the latest Debian 8.4. I have had it running with Debian 3.0 Woody all the way through Debian 8.4 now with no problems (Old versions [<4.0 Etch] of Debian requires manual i810 support configured). It compiles with GCC. I have had it running with Redhat 6 all the way through Redhat 9. Redhat 6 required manual configuration of some hardware to work properly. It compiles with GCC. I have had it running with Puppy Linux versions from old version 4 all the way to Wary 5.3 (incredible support for older computers!). It worked perfect with most of those installations, except the older versions had a very hard time with USB wireless networking support (needed to be manually configured). I am amazed that this machine (which was originally designed for Windows ME [omg]) still runs the latest Debian Linux versions without flaw. Of course, I can't use a desktop environment, but that is ok. All I really use it for is testing purposes over SSH. It has served me very well. And to think that people would throw out a computer like this is unbelievable lol... I was given this computer by a friend who thought he no longer wanted or needed it. When I got it, it barely ran on the Windows ME install it had, so I immediately installed Puppy Linux 4.3.1 and Puppy 5.3 versions to get desktop support. Don't throw away your "old" computer! lol |
