A distro is popular because it advertises that it has no viruses, and can read all file types and it looks like windows and has WINE preinstalled?

It doesn't take that much time to configure all of that.

The only distos i use are windows and macos .
I installed elememtayOS and linux mint but they are wy to complicated for me

The point is that it will help quickly deploy a Linux environment for a total newbie with a Desktop Environment they are familiar with and still be *able* to use some of their Windows programs.

Yeah but even if you have WINE preinstalled its damn hard to use it properly

http://www.puppylinuxfaq.org/run-windows...nload.html puppy linux + wine for the noob win... I haven't tried wine on puppy yet, and haven't really worked with wine ever. I would probably still use puppy just to see how it works

Been fooling around with the VM for the past couple of days, hoping to use it most of the time over the main OS (win8).

Should help with becoming more familiar with nix based systems for everyday use.
